Powell was born, raised, and learned how to dance in Springfield. She went on to became one of the most famous and successful tap dancers in the world, dancing in dozens of 1930s and 1940s movies including, Born to Dance, Broadway Melody of 1940, Lady Be Good, among others..

This tribute program features videos of Powell’s exceptional dancing features guest speaker, Lisa Royere, co-author of the definitive biography, Eleanor Powell: Born to Dance.
